Job Title: Motor Vehicle Body Finisher

Job Type: Full-time, minimum 40hrs/week

Salary: $26.22 per hour

About the Role: A family business with over 20 years of experience, Icon Autobody Centre prides itself as the region’s go-to auto repair shop. We specialize in high-end European vehicles but welcome all makes and models. We are seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Body Finisher to join our dynamic automotive team. As a Body Finisher, you will be essential in restoring the aesthetics and structural integrity of vehicles after damage. Your expertise in body repair and finishing will ensure that vehicles not only run well but also look pristine.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure the quality of repair aligns with company standards and customer expectations.
  • Plan repair work to be performed, organizing tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain professionalism in customer service by interacting courteously with customers and explaining the repair process clearly.
  • Clean and maintain the workspace, ensuring a safe and organized environment for optimal operations.
  • File, grind, and sand body surfaces that require repair, preparing them for further finishing work.
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting to ensure clean lines and protect areas from overspray.
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills, and bolt or weld replacement parts into place, restoring the vehicle's original contours.
  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces, achieving a finish that matches the original or requested specification.
  • Repair or replace interior components to restore the cabin to its pre-accident condition.
  • Mix paint, blend, and match colors to ensure seamless repairs with existing vehicle colors.

Requirements:

  • Highschool diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in refinishing and repairing of metal structures
  • Strong understanding of metal structures, materials, and color matching.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
