The Youth Collaboration program assists youth 15 – 30 years of age to find employment through group-based employability skills training and a work experience placement. The program provides holistic services for youth who are out of school, unemployed, and are facing barriers to finding a job.
The program begins with two to three weeks of group-based employability and life skills workshops. Youth receive minimum wage and TTC tokens. Upon successful completion of the training period participants may qualify for a paid work placement, up to a maximum of ten weeks with the goal of permanent employment at the end of placement period.
All youth selected for the program must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Canadian citizenship, permanent resident, or Convention Refugee status
- legally entitled to work in Canada
- not in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits
