CBC National News with YES CEO Tim Lang on ‘How did the Gen Z job market get so bleak?’

Gen Z graduates are facing the highest unemployment rate the country has seen in decades, apart from during the pandemic. CBC’s Paula Duhatschek breaks down what’s behind the surge on CBC’s The National and what it could mean for a whole generation of Canadians.

Duhatschek spoke with YES CEO Tim Lang about some of the causes, including the U.S. tariff threat and business cautiousness, as well as what can be done to find work despite the situation.

Lang told CBC that solutions include leveraging free resources like YES, which helps guide youth through these uncertain times by inspiring, training, and connecting tens of thousands of Canadians with employment opportunities.
