On Thursday November 20, YES participated in the Microsoft at Toronto Eaton Centre grand opening event.
We were one of four charities chosen to partner with Microsoft for this special event, where we were awarded more than $60,000 in technology grants. Many YES clients, staff, and friends came out to support YES and Microsoft. We had a fun-filled morning of networking, socializing, cheering on our President Nancy Schaefer as she received the cheque on our behalf, and checking out Microsoftâs latest technology.
Dennis Lopes, Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs for Microsoft Canada stated: âWe were delighted that YES participated in our celebration. They are committed to helping young people identify and seize employment opportunities, which aligns with the objectives of our YouthSpark program. At Microsoft, we are passionate about empowering people and organizations to do more and achieve more. We hope our software donation will help YES be even more successful in fulfilling its mandate for the benefit of youth in our communities.â
With these donations we will be able to improve our technology which will help our clients prepare for jobs and job search more effectively. We thank everyone for coming out to support us and Microsoft for selecting us as partner. Together we are changing lives!

Congratulations to everyone that participated in this yearâs Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge on behalf of YES. Together we raised $13,162, which will go towards supporting at-risk youth in our community.
We applaud our amazing staff, Board of Directors, and friends that volunteered to run or walk in the marathon and fundraise for us. Your loyalty to our organization is admirable and we cannot thank you enough.
To the individuals that sponsored our runners â thank you for your generosity! Your gifts demonstrate that you are committed to helping youth succeed. We are blessed to have you be a part of our cause.
The Charity Challenge reinforced that if we work together as a team, we can have a significant impact in our community. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for choosing to be on our team!
