Job Title: Teacher’s Assistant (NOC 43100)

Location: Markham, ON

Hours: 40 hours per week, permanent full-time

Vacancy: 1

Wages: $25.00/hour

Job duties:

• Assist teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment
• Carry out a program designed for the needs of individual children with concerns
• Lead activities by reading stories, teaching songs, music and physical activity
• Take assigned responsibilities for maintaining an orderly, tidy, clean classroom
• Oversee children during non-classroom times, in-between classes, during lunch and on-field excursions
• Document children progress and communicate with parents to keep them informed
• Maintain health and safety procedures in accordance with prescribed polices and undertake fire drills regularly, as requested by the principal
• Attend all training classes, parent conferences and faculty meetings
• Follow the guidelines and timetables prescribed by the school

Experience and Education Requirement:

• Completion of a college diploma in education or relevant field is preferred
• Over one year experience in the field
