Job Title: Early Childhood Educator (NOC 42202)

Location: Markham, ON

Hours: 40 hours per week, permanent full-time

Wages: $21.50/hour

Job duties:

• Supervise the children safely and guide them in their daily routine at school
• Carry out a program designed for the needs of individual children with concerns for his/her interests, handicaps, special talents, and individual style and pace of learning
• Lead activities by reading stories, teaching songs, music and physical activity
• Take assigned responsibilities for maintaining an orderly, tidy, clean classroom
• Welcome children before class starts and assist children in preparation to go home
• See that consistent and effective discipline is used in the classroom following the school’s philosophy about discipline
• Guide and assist young children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
• Maintain health and safety procedures in accordance with prescribed polices and undertake fire drills regularly, as requested by the principal
• Follow the guidelines and timetables prescribed by the school

Experience and Education Requirement:

• Completion of a college diploma in Early Childhood Education program
• Over one year experience in the field
