Research Centre
YES has launched a research centre that aims to advance our pursuit of excellence in employment and empowerment.
Our Research Mission
Furthering our knowledge of issues surrounding youth unemployment will increase our capacity as an organization and allow us to share and exchange knowledge with the broader community of service providers for youth. YES’ research also aims to play an integral role in encouraging vital public policy transformations as well as broader societal change.
About Our Research
Our research seeks to identify the various social, economic and psychological factors that lie at the root of youth unemployment, as well as examining the impact of unemployment on the lives of youth. Our research is multi-disciplinary, often intersecting with other broader areas of social inquiry. The scale of our research varies from client profile statistics and analysis, to program reports to community-based research projects.
Our Approach
YES adheres strongly to the principles of community based research and youth engagement practices. Working within this framework allows youth to both inform and benefit from the knowledge being produced.
Research Initiatives at YES
YES is currently seeking academic, institutional and community partners to collaborate with on research initiatives. If you are interested in partnering with us or would like to find out about our current research activities, please contact YES’ research coordinator at 416-504-5516 ext. 233 or gabrielle_zilkha@yes.on.ca
