Employer Services FAQ
Common questions and answers about our Employer Services.
Q - What are the different programs that are available to my company?
A - We offer a range of both unsubsidized and subsidized programs that run year round.
Q - Are there any program restrictions?
A - Some program restrictions may apply. In your best interest you should speak with a YES representative about placing your job order. They can provide further clarification and assistance in order to best meet your employment needs.
Q - What’s the difference between a Job Trial and a Training Placement?
A - A job trial is where an employer hires a client for a shorter period of time to ensure the fit is right. The training placement is where the client is hired on permanently. Job trials and Training placements are subsidized employment opportunities we offer.
Q - Why do we need to provide a BN?
A - You need to provide your company business registration number when registering with our service. This helps us to make sure that we are posting job opportunities on behalf of legitimate companies for our clients who follow the employment standards act.
Q - Where do our clients come from?
A - Our clients live all across the GTA and predominately want to work in jobs that are easily accessible by public transit.
Q - Who are our clients?
A - They are youth who range in age from 15 - 30 years of age. Most want to gain work experience that will help them succeed and contribute to society. Some of our clients have faced hardships that lead to their vulnerability to getting ahead. For these at-risk clients making a change to work is why they are seeking our assistance.
Q - What types of jobs do your clients want?
A - Clients want entry-level and intermediate level jobs that are either full or part-time.
Q - Is it quicker for me to register online?
A - For some companies it may be easier and more convenient to register online. We are usually able to respond to your request within 48 hours. Generally those employers who call in get immediate service since there is always someone available to take your order.
Q - When will I see my job posted?
A - Your job will be posted online within two business days and manually on the job board within 24 hours. Job postings become ‘live’ after you speak with a representative.
Q - How many resumes will I receive?
A - The response to your job is dependent on the type of work you are offering and what our many clients are looking for at any given time. Key things that impact the response to your job are type of work, wage and location. We are not a recruitment agency; we are a not-for-profit charitable organization that provides support to youth who want to work.
