Do you have ideas for creating your own company this summer? If you’re a student 15-29 years old in Ontario, you can turn those ideas into a real business this summer. The Summer Company program provides up to $3,000, hands-on coaching and mentoring to young entrepreneurs to help you start and operate your business.

Looking for a Summer Job?

Summer Jobs Service (SJS) is a program for high school and post-secondary students between the ages of 15 and 30 who are looking for a summer job. To qualify students must have attended school in the most recent semester and plan to return to school in the fall.

The SJS program partners with employers to offer youth exclusive access to hundreds of summer job opportunities. Qualifying students also have access to job fairs and hiring events, workshops that prepare participants to find and keep a summer job.

During the months of April to August, phone or drop in during office hours to begin a summer job search. Students must bring:

Government issued photo ID that shows age. A Health Card does not qualify.
Proof of attendance during the school year (e.g. dated student card, report card, letter from school,)
Social Insurance Number (SIN) card

For students that are looking for help during the school year, contact our Student Services!

Monday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Thursday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Friday 9:00am – 4:30pm

Are you looking for the opportunity to explore the world of entrepreneurship in the fashion industry? Are you looking for a program that will assist you in excelling in the fashion industry?

Passion For Fashion provides youth with the opportunity to explore the world of entrepreneurship in the fashion industry. In partnership with the Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI) the program offers workshops on starting your own fashion business, developing a line, sales and marketing, and how to do presentations. Youth may qualify for one-on-one mentorship with top industry professionals and learn from the industry guest speaker series.

Before YES I had interviews but afterwards I would never get any calls back. Most places won’t hire you unless you have a certificate or diploma. They won’t give you a chance or give you training. It’s hard. I came to YES because I heard from a friend they help and teach you how to get a job. They helped me get into a really good program that will not just get me a job but a career. Even though the staff at YES did not know me, they were so helpful and kind. I had a much easier time to do my job search and look for jobs with access to the internet and phones that YES provides. Now I’m working at a job I love! Thank you!

When I first entered the Job Camp program at YES I was on the verge of losing my apartment and in between schools. With the help of Job Camp I was able to revamp my resume and interview skills thus boosting my confidence to put myself out there on the job market. Within the second week of Job Camp I had 2 interviews and was hired on the spot. Working there enabled me to keep my apartment and I’ve already saved enough to pay for my first semester of college. Without programs like these I wouldn’t be where I am today.

I came to YES when I was unemployed with absolutely no prospects or experience within the city at all. I had no money for expenses and no money for rent and was in a horrible position after leaving school. I gave it a shot and it was the best decision I have made since moving to Toronto. The Job Camp program kept me on my feet and motivated to find work, and I did. In just under a week and a half I had an interview with one of my favourite employers and was hired days later. I am now working 5 days a week and loving what I do. The people at YES are amazing at what they do and they will find you a job if you are motivated and work with them.
